Philanthropy And What It Means To Me
What is philanthropy to you? To me, it is certainly the
defined description of giving of time and money to needy
causes but it’s also much more than that.
While it’s nice to send a cheque to a charity or
to put a big wad of cash into the collection plate at church,
philanthropy isn’t just about money. I believe firmly
that you reap what you sow and I know that if you put positive
vibes out into the universe and plant seeds of kindness
and motivation, it will create a positive environment around
you. You don’t have to be wealthy
to be a philanthropist.
In my lifetime, I have done many philanthropic things
and I’ve seen huge benefits as a result. I’ve given
to charity in monetary terms and done things for free that
would normally cost someone a lot of money otherwise. I
don’t do good things merely to get good results or
get something back; I do give of myself in life because
it creates a world around me that I can be proud to be
in. I try to create an environment that I want and I often
find that it’s contagious! When I choose to give
time and money to charity and charitable acts, I create
the ideal world around me. Then, as a result, I open
my life up to more good by the attitude and approach
I use in life. Gifts are bestowed upon us so we can
share them with the world. I do my best to do that
every day in my life.
Being told you must do something charitable is a nothing
like true charitable act. If someone begrudgingly
helps someone or helps a cause because they feel obligated,
it creates negativity. Negativity creates a vacuum
in your life and sucks out the positives around you.
Instead, if someone gives with a giving heart, it
creates positive energy in their universe and doing so
can have a great ripple effect in their life. Happiness
in life can hinge on that positive energy.
Do you remember that warm, fuzzy feeling you got
the last time you saw or did something heart warming?
You can live with that feeling inside of you at all
times if you choose to.
What Can You Do To Be A Philanthropist And Make Your Own
World A Better Place?
I regularly donate time and money and I’m working
to open a children’s charity for less fortunate kids.
I hope you’ll look at your life and think about what
you might be able to do to open up your heart to giving
of yourself to philanthropy. Doing it won’t only
open your world of possibilities for happiness and wealth
but it will be contagious resulting in a happier world
around you.
